GREEN LEADERSHIP IN THE PERSPECTIVE OF GENERATIONS AND ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT: REFLECTIONS FROM 23 GLOBAL AND LOCAL STUDIES

This study aims to explore and reflect on how the concept of green leadership is understood and implemented in various organizational contexts and across generations, especially Generation Z. The approach used is descriptive qualitative with a literature analysis method of 23 scientific articles published nationally and internationally between 2022 and 2025. The results of the study show that green leadership has a significant influence on pro-environmental behavior, green innovation, and employee involvement in sustainability issues. Generation Z shows a high preference for a leadership style that is oriented towards sustainability and environmental ethics. Meanwhile, the effectiveness of green leadership is greatly influenced by organizational characteristics, such as the public sector, education, MSMEs, and the service industry. This study concludes that green leadership is a strategic leadership model for the future that requires adjustments to values and approaches according to the context of generations and organizations. This reflection provides an important contribution to the development of sustainable leadership theory and practice in various sectors.
