The Use of Social Media to Increase the Income of the Indonesian People

This paper discusses the use of the most social media, namely youtube, facebook, instagram, twitter, whatsapp, messenger, linkedIn and pinterest in increasing the income of the Indonesian people, from 2017 to 2025. The development of social media in Indonesia has increased significantly. It can be seen that Indonesia occupies the 3rd position of the most dispersed social media users in the world. The analysis method was used with a quantitative method by obtaining data from BI, BPS, databoks, katadata, We Are Social and Hootsuite websites. Data processing Multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS 26. It was found that there was a significant influence of social media on the increase in Indonesia's GDP by 96.2 percent, the remaining 3.8 from factors outside the study. The use of youtube, having the largest users, is 95 percent in 2022. With the increasing use of social media, it can help increase people's income, which will further affect the GDP per capita and improve the quality of Indonesian society. The use of the internet by individuals is a factor that contributes to the growth of GDP per capita which can contribute to the growth of a country's output while increasing the level of employment in industry, especially in countries with large populations, in line with the increase in digital economic activity.
