This community service project, implemented by a team of lecturers and students from Perbanas Institute, was held on June 20, 2025, at the Situsari Village Office in Cileungsi, Bogor. The program, titled "Empowering Family Food Security Through Productive Yard Use," aimed to empower homemakers by training them to manage their yards as a source of independent food.
The training covered several topics, including identifying yard potential, selecting nutritious plants, utilizing household waste as organic fertilizer, and using recycled materials as planting media. Through a participatory education method, this activity successfully increased participants' awareness and skills in building family food resilience. The results showed a positive change in their mindset regarding land use, which made a real contribution to the family economy.
It is hoped that this program can serve as a model for a self-sufficient food movement at the village level.
