Fostering Entrepreneurial Skills and Cultural Awareness among Orphaned Youth Al-Mubarokah through Local Product Rengginang Ligarmukti Klapanunggal West Java

The children who residing in orphanages often encounter multifaceted social and economic challenges. These issues necessitates an empowering educational strategy, one of which includes entrepreneurship education rooted in local products and cultural heritage values. Within this community engagement initiative, entrepreneurship skill was facilitated by lecturers and students of Perbanas Institute in collaboration with the micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) partner "Rumah Produksi Sejahtera" from the Ligarmukti Klapanunggal West Java Province. The primary objective of this program was to introduce entrepreneurial principles while simultaneously cultivating cultural values through the production and marketing of culturally significant local products, such as Rengginang. This community services use experiential learning approach. Core materials encompassed the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, video sessions on product manufacturing and packaging, and simulations of marketing strategies. Findings indicated a marked improvement in participants' comprehension and competencies, alongside an increased appreciation for local culture. This initiative functioned not only as a capacity-building intervention but also as a conduit for cultural preservation and reinforcement of social identity among orphaned youth. Through its integrative methodology, such activities present replicable models for social intervention and empowerment grounded in cultural values. The result of this community empowerment activity is increased community capacity.
